Dear Patients,
As many of you will be aware, the proposed merger of the three Ripon practices did not proceed as planned last year. Since then, we have been actively exploring alternative ways to secure the long-term future of our practice, ensure effective succession planning, and continue delivering the high-quality care you expect and deserve.
We have had to co-ordinate this process with several organisations, and information about it can only be shared once agreed by all parties and needs to accurately reflect that agreement. Recent developments, now addressed, have affected our ability to provide preliminary notification earlier, and have meant this announcement had been delayed later than we would have liked.
We are pleased to share that we are planning to welcome experienced, well-established partners into our current partnership, subject to approval from NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board. This is a positive and strategic step that will strengthen our practice and bring several key benefits:
- It secures the long-term stability of our NHS contract
- It introduces additional clinical and operational resilience
- It provides access to a large, centralised back-office function, enhancing our ability to manage operations, compliance, and patient support efficiently
Importantly, there will be no changes to the services we currently provide. Our dedicated team of GPs, nurses, and support staff will remain unchanged, and you will continue to be cared for by the same familiar faces.
We are proud to be part of the Ripon community and remain fully committed to delivering safe, compassionate, and personalised care. This partnership is an important step to ensure we can continue doing so — not just today, but for the years ahead.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and trust.
Warm regards,
Ripon Spa Surgery Team
